After the last 7 weeks of working on the Thai-Burmese border shooting my short documentary ‘Forgotten Borders’, I have now resumed my backpacking trip around Asia. I now have around 10 weeks to shoot Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Guangxi Province in South China. This means that I have around 2.5 weeks to shoot in Laos. In an ideal world I would have much more time to shoot here as the travel in Laos is long and slow. This means that the majority of my time here will be travelling along the beaten path.
The itinerary is quite a slow moving one compared with my time in Myanmar mainly because the majority of these journeys are 8 hrs+ on a bus. I would rather spend my days shooting and exploring than travelling on buses. It also mixes the temples of Luang Prabang with the landscapes of Vang Vieng (hopefully I will try my best to avoid the ‘tubing scene’), the hustle and bustle of Vientiane and the peaceful serenity of Si Phan Don.

After 7 weeks of being away I will hopefully get the blog posts and writing back up to speed and hopefully give you plenty of content over the next coming weeks. Hopefully you will stick along for the ride and enjoy the content as much as I enjoy shooting it!
